  • Great job, Sa Niah!
    Congratulations to
    Sa Niah Dawson
for making straight A's for the first nine weeks grading period.  Several students successfully made the A/B Honor Roll, but Sa Niah is to be congratulated for having an A average in every class.  Sa Niah was recognized at an assembly of the student body on Thursday, October 23rd and Ms. Trarsha Maddox, Interim Principal, presented her with a 19 inch television to honor her accomplishment.
Way to go, Sa Niah!  Keep up the great work.  Sa Niah's mother, Stephanie Dawson, was also present at the assembly to celebrate with her daughter.  Success is a family affair and Ms. Dawson is to be commended for her active participation in Sa Niah's academic achievements.

Books, Books, Books!

Wilkerson Middle School students enjoyed hearing author Lou Anders speak on Wednesday, December 10th.  The students were all gifted with a copy of his recent novel, Frostborn.  The event was coordinated by the Birmingham AFT and enjoyed by students, teachers, parents and visitors.  AFT also gave every student in the school a bag with two additional new books to take home to enjoy.  Many thanks to Terri Michal from AFT and author Lou Anders.  A special thanks to our parents and our Birmingham Board of Education member, Sandra Brown, for their support and attendance.
