Ramsay High School Selection Criteria
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31, 2012
RHS ENTRANCE EXAM BEGINS IN SPRING 2012
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE TESTED WITHOUT A VALID PICTURE ID . We will accept any one of the following:
- School issued ID
- State issued Driver's license or permit
- State issued non-driver's ID
- Student employee ID
- Passport ID (You may go to a drug store to get this)
- Or check with your schools's counselor for assistance
- Student's 7th grade standardized test scores (SATs ONLY, NO ARMT SCORES)
- Student's 2nd term 8th grade report card which will be issued in January, 2012 (minimum 75 average required in all academic courses)
- Completed application packages (with required documents) must be recieved in the school's main office (by mail or delivered in person) on or before January 31,2012.
- Only the above three items (application, standardized test scores, and report card) are required to complete the application package. DO NOT SEND OTHER DOCUMENTS. SENDING ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS MAY DELAY THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
- APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE COMPLETE PRIOR TO TAKING THE ENTRANCE EXAM.
- Expect to be notified BY MAIL after February 17,2012 of the Ramsay Entrance Exam testing date.
- A VALID PICTURE ID IS REQUIRED TO TAKE THE RAMSAY ENTRANCE EXAM.
INCOMING 10th Grade APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Copy of the student's 8th grade standardized test scores.
Copy of the students 2nd term 9th grade report card (issued in January 2012)
Completed application packet (with required documents) must be recieved in the school's main office (by mail or delivered in person) on or before January 31, 2012.
- APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE COMPLETE PRIOR TO TAKING THE ENTRANCE EXAM.
- Incomplete application packet (missing required documents) will NOT be considered for admission.
Only the three items listed here (application, standardized test scores, and report card) are required to complete the application packet. DO NOT SEND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS. SENDING ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS MAY DELAY YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS.

INCOMING 11th/12th Grade APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 11th and 12th Grade Application
A copy of the student's Alabama High School Graduation Exam results;
incoming JUNIORS and SENIORS must have passed ALL parts of the AHSGE to be considered for admission into Ramsay High School.
- A copy of the student's sealed OFFICIAL school transcripts including most recent grades.
- Completed application packages (Ramsay application, AHSGE results, and official school transcripts) must be recieved in the school's main office (by mail or delivered in person) on or before January 31, 2012.
- Only the above three items (application, graduation exam scores, official transcripts with most recent grades) are required to complete the application document package. DO NOT SEND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS. SENDING ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS MAY DELAY YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS.

STUDENTS MUST MAINTAIN AN OVERALL 2.5 TO REMAIN AT RAMSAY
Students are required to earn a minimum of 27 units of credit in the required course of study and pass all sections of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) to be awarded a graduation diploma.
In order to be placed in a sophomore AO class, a student must have 7 units; 15 units for a junior AO class; and 22 units for a senior AO class.
