• On Tuesday, August 25th, Mayor William Bell spoke to Ms. Steward's fifth grade class about a new district initiative in technology.  Along with Mayor Bell a representative from Microsoft talked to the students about their futures in technology and how the schools would aid in preparing them. They discussed programs like Digi-girl that would be available this year as well as coding classes.  The students were able to ask questions about how these programs could help them in career choices in engineering and the medical field.  Mr. Hopkins thanked Mayor Bell for speaking to our students and for bringing this initiative to Phillips and all the schools in the city of Birmingham.
