Destiny Mentoring Program 1st Annual Little Ladies and Gentleman's Conference
Destiny Mentoring Program and Arrington Middle School sponsored their 1st Annual Little Ladies and Gentleman’s Conference; the theme for the week was “Becoming a Better Me!” The conference was held from May 11-14, 2015 which featured speakers from plethora of backgrounds. They discussed topics such as finance, entrepreneurship, personal hygiene and more. Each session was designed to encouraged students to stay in school and aspire for greatness.
Each class held was specialized for boys and girls and featured one joint class. Each day was a new topic: Monday (Color Me Beautiful (Ladies), Dress for Success-boys), Tuesday (Etiquette and Manners-joint), Wednesday (High Tea-girls, Vital in the Community-boys), and Thursday (Career Day-joint). On Monday May 18, 2015, LaShunda Scales was the guest speaker at the closing ceremony, encouraging everyone to know that they are winners. This is the first of many conferences to come to Arrington Middle School and each year, the conference will grow, expand and highlight trailblazers in history.
