*The fee will be $40 a week. A multi-child discount will be offered to families with more than one child in the program. It will be $40 for the first child, $30 for the second child and $20 for each additional child.

*Payment will be accepted in the form of cash or a money order. Money orders should be made out to Birmingham City Schools.

*Online payments will also be accepted. A link will be provided soon.

*For families needing to pay through Child Care Resources or another resource, for example, the district will accept such payments.

*After school care will be provided for kindergarten through eighth grade at the 16 listed schools.

*After school care will be provided for pre-K students, based on need. If you are a parent with a pre-K child at one of the 16 listed schools, please contact the Birmingham City Schools After School Care Office at 231-2371 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to let them know of your need.

*Payments for after school care will be accepted by an after school care representative, at the school, between 3 and 6 p.m., each day. Payments are to be made weekly. However, advance payments will be accepted. No checks.

*A parent with an after school care balance from the 2015-2016 school year, must pay off that balance before enrolling their child in after school care for the 2016-2017 school year.

*A $10 late fee will be assessed for parents picking up a child after 6:15 p.m. An additional $10 will be added for every 15 minutes the parent is late. For example, if a parent does not pick up a child at 6:15 p.m., they will be charged $10. If the parent does not arrive until 6:30 p.m., another $10 will be charged. The parent must pay $20 in late fees that day. The late fee payment must be made when the parent picks up the child.

*A variety of programs will be available to students in after school care. Some include tutoring, assistance in math and reading, recreation, arts and more.
