Greetings from our class!Mr. Blanks teaches history and reading/language arts. His main focus is on American History, but he combines reading and language into it at the same time. Our students are on a mission to become great leaders as well as great students. This year we have adopted a process called "Leader In Me", in which all students are taught 7 habits of great leaders. A new habit is introduced each month and students are encouraged to demonstrate that habit in their daily actions........................but that's not all!We are on track to fully explore all areas of American History, from early America, all the way to the Industrial Revolution. Some people may think history is not exciting, but boy are they wrong. We have fun while we are absorbing the people, places and events that helped our country become the United States of America. We not only explore history, but we are learning to apply important reading and language skills to make ourselves effective readers and writers. Students have the opportunity to use technology as part of the learning process as well. Our primary goals are to become thinkers, proficient readers and effective writers.Come on in and visit our class. We'd love to have you join us!
