    The application for Birmingham City Schools' Specialty Schools: EPIC Elementary, Princeton Elementary, W. J.  Christian K-8 School, J. H. Phillips Academy K-8 School, and Ramsay IB Magnet High School will open Friday, December 14, 2018, and will close  January 18, 2019. All interested applicants must submit their applications through the online process and not at individual schools.

    Students may not enter the building before 7:15am.  If you arrive at school before 7:15 you should remain in your car until 7:15.  Proper supervision of students begins at 7:15. Please do not ask Mr. Muhammad or any teacher to let you into the building before 7:15.

    Welcome to John Herbert Phillips Academy; A PYP and MYP authorized IB World School.

    The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end, the IB works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
