Welcome to John Herbert Phillips Academy

  • Welcome to John Herbert Phillips Academy; A PYP and MYP authorized IB World School.

JHPA is committed to ensure students fulfill their dreams through our rigorous school programs, assessments and committed community outreach. We strive to lead our students to become independent, critical thinkers, and life-long learners while fostering a respect for diversity within a global society.
At JHPA, we take our IB curriculum and teaching strategies seriously.  IB affords us the best instructional principles and practice in the world.  Our students are guided to model the IB learner profile at all times. For more, visit our IB link (top right of the menu).
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end, the IB works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Competition for weekly usage of Stride Academy began last week. Categories are K, 1, 2, 3-5 and 6-8. Grade level winners will receive their rewards in the lunch room on Fridays and individual winners will receive prizes during Lion’s Den. Stride Academy is an activity that aligns with our state standards.
