Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Framework
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive school-wide approach which establishes the behavioral supports and social culture needed to improve social, emotional and academic success for all students. PBIS is based on a problem-solving model that aims to prevent inappropriate behavior through teaching and reinforcing appropriate behaviors. PBIS uses a range of interventions that are systematically applied to students based on their demonstrated level of need while addressing the role of the environment as it applies to the development and improvement of behavior.
