Ms. Zaslawsky

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Zaslawsky

My name is Zoe Zaslawsky, but please call me Ms. Z! This is my first year teaching at W.J. Christian, and I am so excited to be a part of the Charger family.

I have always had a love of education. I graduated with a BA in History in 2014 and a MA in History in 2017, both from UAB (go Blazers!). Currently, I am finishing my MA in Secondary Social Studies Education at UAB.

I am a social studies teacher because I believe in the power of everyday people creating change in the world. The study of history helps us understand our past, which helps us make sense of our society in the present, and inspires us to envision a different tomorrow. I hope to inspire young activists. Whether they are passionate about social justice, racial justice, environmental impacts, women's rights, religious freedoms, LGBTQ rights, economic justice, etc. I hope to inspire these young scholars to be a force for greatness. Young scholars will leave my class as better critical thinkers, more confident, more knowledgeable, a developed growth mindset, and as proficient readers/writers.

I am so looking forward to a great year! Parents, if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, e-mail is my preferred form of contact. My e-mail address is
