Career Day!

  • For career day students dressed as the professionals

they desire to become in the future. Throughout the day

they were spotted wearing attire that reflect that of

    doctors, CEOs, attorneys, judges, teachers,

    entrepreneurs, App developers, web designers,

politicians, and many other career choices. We want

our students to have a vision of their futures now

and know that it's NEVER too soon to start thinking

    about their future!

Public education is the cornerstone for our communities! For 97 years American Education Week (AEW) has celebrated the hard-working men and women who work on behalf of America’s students. This week is dedicated to elevating and championing the outstanding work and contributions of teachers, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, school nurses, school secretaries, and custodians—plus countless others! This year American Education Week was celebrated the week of November 12-16. Our students participated in many fun educational activities to celebrate the hard work and efforts of everyone that play a role in their education. Over 600 student participated in our Grab and Go event and was given a free book.

  •  Girls who Code

Come hang out with Maya, Erin, Leila, Sophia and Lucy...

Join a Girls who Code (GWC) CLUB!

Girls Who Code 3rd-5th Grade Clubs are a community of girls who actively design, code, read and explore together.  Featuring activities, characters, and vocabulary drawn form the best-selling Girls Who Code books, 3rd-5th Grade Clubs expose girls to bravery, resilience, and computational thinking.

Each meeting will include fun, interactive activities that are unique to Girls Who Code. We recommend that each meeting starts with girls reading together from a part of the book. Then,  they discuss questions that both the book and important concepts, like bravery and sisterhood. The Club will then take on a creative challenge that relates to the chapter they read-either unplugged or online.

Who: If interested please contact or see Mrs. Amamoo, Mrs. Salter, or Ms. Thompson.

When: GWC Club will meet on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 (Oct.-Dec.)

    What will I learn?

You and your friends will learn about the basics of computer science and some of the awesome women who use technology to create amazing things. You will also work together to create cool projects and complete challenges.

    What happens during a Club?

Each meeting will kick off with your Club exploring computer science and design through a discussion of parts of our book-Learn to Code and Change the World. Then, your Club will complete fun, interactive activities that challenge you to unleash your creativity and personality.

    Can I join?

Yes! Anyone can join if you're creative, curious and want to learn more about how to make computers think.  Whether you're a beginner or a computer master, you'll get to make new friends as you read and learn together!
