• Science Olympiad We are proud to announce that Charles A. Brown will once again be participating in the state wide Science Olympaid competition held annually at JacksonVille High School. Elementary Science Olympiad events take advantage of the natural curiosity of each child, and allow for in-depth hands-on experiences exploring the world of science. We encourage these keen young students to explore, ask questions, experiment, get messy, and have fun learning about the world around them.

Students interested in participating in our Elementary Science Olympiad will meet to practice together in the Library after school. The competion will be held at Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville Alabama on Saturday February 23, 2019. More information can be found at www.esoatjhs.org/index.html.

When a student request to participate in a specific event, it is his/her responsibility to practice and research at home, as well as during practices at school. The competition is challenging. Students and teachers from other schools have won because of their willingness to work, during practice and at home. We can do it! We have the ability! Let’s show them what we can do!

The cost to participate in Science Olympiad is $30.00. This money pays for the t-shirts, the registration, and the science supplies. Parents can order shirts as well for $15.00. We will design and order the t-shirts in January.

If you have any questions, please email me at pcrow@bhm.k12.al.us. You may also call or text me at 205-999-5209. I am looking forward to working with our new Science Olympiad team.

Special Note: Students with discipline referrals may be disqualified from the competitions. Science Olympiad is a privilege. Participants represent themselves, their families, their class, and their school during practices and competitions. We want Charles A. Brown to be represented in the most positive manner.
