Meet Mrs. Perin
1st Grade Teacher, Avondale Elementary
HELLO! I'm Mrs. Perin and I am so happy to be your teacher this year! We are going to have an amazing year learning together. This is my first year teaching in Alabama and at Avondale. I've taught in Kentucky and in Ohio. This is actually my 8th year of teaching! Although I've taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th - First grade is my FAVORITE! I have two dogs and a new baby girl that I will talk about a lot. Before becoming a teacher, I received my Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Samford University. I toured internationally and across the US performing opera and musical theater.
I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education, and Rank I certification in Instructional Supervision. My classroom fosters an environment that inspires academic excellence, leadership, and collaboration. It is a magical place where children experience the true joy of learning. I teach in innovative, creative, and dynamic ways and empower students to reach their goals with compassion, integrity, and honor. My teaching tenure has provided me experience with a diverse group of students ranging in learning ability from gifted/talented to ESL. As a result, I have become proficient at designing differentiated lesson plans to meet each child at their level and challenge them to meet both academic and personal goals.
In addition to fostering an enthusiasm for learning, I also emphasize developing well-rounded individuals.Frequently throughout the year, my class participates in community service projects – such as canned food drives or military pen pals. These opportunities allow students to become citizens of the world and also give community members insight on how wonderful these young children are!
