Facilities and Maintenance
The Mission of the Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations Department is to provide professional service throughout the district. We are here to provide quality service to all faculty, staff, and students year round. Our aim is to meet those needs by maintaining the Birmingham City School System with a safe and comfortable environment which is conducive to a positive learning experience. As a team, we strive to support the district dynamic agenda by practicing and promoting quality services for all.
Overview of Facilities & Maintenance
Facilities & Maintenance is at the epicenter of operations of the BSC. In support of the BCS meeting its’ objective of educating Birmingham children in preparation for their future and betterment of their communities, the education process depends on the incalculable functions and services provided by Facilities & Maintenance.
Several departments, working cooperatively and independently, exist for the purpose of maintaining the grounds, facilities, physical aesthetics, levels of comfort, purchase and upkeep of certain small equipment, transfer of furniture and other commodities between facilities and other related educational activities.

To improve the physical plant and facilities in order to provide an environment conducive to the teaching, learning process.
