Mrs. Sandra Brown
Sandra K. Brown is the mother of three children and eight grandchildren. She is a product of the Birmingham City School System and matriculated through Lewis Elementary, G.W. Carver High School and Jackson Olin Vocational School.
She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama after 29 years of service, where she worked in the Customer Accounts and Claims Departments.
Mrs. Brown is the former President of the North Birmingham Neighborhood and Community as well as former Vice President of the Birmingham Citizen Advisory Board.
With a deep commitment to helping others, Mrs. Brown served as a volunteer Rape Counselor with the United Way Crisis Center Rape Response program for 15 years. She also worked for many years as a volunteer with the Y.W.C.A Domestic Violence Program as an Advocate and Speaker.
Mrs. Brown is entering her second term as a member of the Birmingham Board of Education, having been elected first in 2013, and again decisively in 2017.
