Ms. Faith Jackson, 6th Grade Social Studies
  • All About Ms. F. Jackson

This is my 6th year at Jones Valley Middle School. Previously, I taught Social Studies and coached the Lady Dragons Softball Team. I currently teach English Language Arts and serve as the advisor of the Jones Valley Middle School Junior Civitan Club.

I was born and raised on the west side of Birmingham. I am the youngest of four siblings. I have eighteen nieces and nephews, 5 godchildren, and 1 dog.

I am a product of the Birmingham City Schools System. After I graduated with honors from Jackson-Olin High School I moved to Nashville, Tennessee. I studied and graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in Music and Theater. I earned a scholarship and became a member of the TSU Aristocrat of Bands, TSU Wind Ensemble, TSU Concert Band, TSU Jazz Collegians, TSU Opera Workshop, and TSU Clarinet Choir. I took on several leadership roles as a member of the University Bands Program, including Section Leader and Undergraduate Assistant. I also served as Historian and President of the TSU Student Tennessee Education Association as well as Student Tennessee Education Association State Vice-President.

I also attended the University of West Alabama where I earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Pinnacle Honor Society, and the Alabama Education Associaton.

My personal calling is working with children, especially those interested in fine arts. In my spare time, I like to travel, play sports, eat, and bury myself in cultural diversity. I also mentor youth in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississiippi, and Georgia. I use my gifts, talents, and personal experiences in the hopes of preparing them for college and adult life. I teach music private music lessons. Before the pandemic I owned a dance studio for beginning ballerinas with one of my best friends/sisters.

I enjoy every moment of my life and look forward to working with students at Jones Valley for years to come. To know me is to love me. I'm far from a perfect person, but I live my life with laughter and love, always focusing on my goals and my legacy.
