•     David Bailey once stated, “The best advice I ever got was that knowledge is power and to keep reading.” As your Reading Specialist, and I plan to work with the students as well as with the parents and staff to develop strategic lessons that enrich the reading curriculum. I hope to collaborate with a professional staff who is eager and ready to learn the newest literacy trends to add to their repertoire of teaching strategies.  I believe that the key to learning is being student focused and data driven.

I’m truly blessed to be a part of the Hudson Family! I was born in Birmingham, AL. I was raised in 4 different states along the East Coast due to my father's military career. I attended and graduated from Shades Valley High School. Soon after high school, I joined the United States Army, and is currently serving my country for nineteen, prosperous years. I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College, where I received my Bachelors of Science in Collaborative Education K-6. I received my Master of Education at UAH. I’ve taught second grade, third grade and fourth grade. I enjoy shopping, camping, and traveling with family and friends. I truly love teaching, and I'm looking forward to supporting the students and teachers at Hudson K-8 as their ARI Reading Specialist. I will always consider myself a teacher and believe that the true gifts of teaching are those unique experiences in the classroom.
