She is a Robotics teacher, Technology Student Association Advisor, Media Specialist at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, and Co-Founder of HOLTS Foundation (Helping Others Live Through Service).
Ms. Moncrief is a product of Birmingham City Schools. She attended Center Street Elementary School and West End High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Math from Alabama A&M University in 1994. After about two years of working in the corporate world as a Computer Analyst and Programmer, she was encouraged to pursue a career as a teacher. Hesitant about the change even though she loved children, she decided to obtain a teaching certificate from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama in 2000. In 2011, she received her Master’s degree in Education Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University. She has spent the majority of her teaching career as a middle school teacher. She believes that they are the most impressionable and where she is needed the most. Twenty-six years later she is still ecstatic and passionate about students excelling and making good choices for themselves.
Ms. Moncrief enjoys spending time with her daughters, creating graphics, traveling, and eating!
