Hello everyone …

I’m Dr. Brenda Denice Dean.  I am a certified Special Education teacher.  I’m a graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham, School of Education, Special Education /Health Bachelors Science (1987), Grand Canyon University, Master of Educational Administration (2010), and Miles Law School Juris Doctorate (1998).

I began my teaching career with the Birmingham City School system as a Case Manager/Differential Specialist after returning home from Atlanta, Georgia.  I’ve served as Work-Shop Facilitator for Alabama State University, University of Alabama Birmingham, various colleges and universities educating parents and teachers on Special Education topics and available resources in the community.

Disability Examiner, Department of Education, State of Alabama, Department of Human Resources Medicaid Waiver Case Manager, State of Alabama, Department of Family Children Services Foster Care Food Stamp Case Manager, State of Georgia, Jefferson County Area on Aging, Birmingham Alabama Case Manager Medicaid Waiver.

Currently serving as the 1st Vice President, National Coalition of 100 Black Women Metropolitan Chapter Birmingham Alabama Inc., presiding over Programs: Education, Health, and Economic Empowerment.

I’m very excited about setting the tone for learning, caring, and sharing among our prize possessions, our scholars at my new assignment with Birmingham City Schools, Inglenook P – 8 School.  My educational background has allowed me to work in the areas of social work, law, and the field of education.  I look forward to working with the students and parents here at Inglenook to prepare them for their future.
