Hudson K-8 School is located at 3300 F L Shuttlesworth in Collegeville. It is named for Bertram Hudson, the first black educator in Birmingham. Hudson School was first established in 1908. The first permanent school building was built on the current site in 1922. During the years 1950-1956, five sections were added to Hudson.  The present facility was opened for the 2009-2010 school year.  Since its initial accreditation in 1977, Hudson has received three expansions.  Hudson will continue to be a staple in the community for many years to come.
