FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome Back Panthers!! I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting school year. I hope that all of you had a great summer and are looking forward to a fast paced school year filled with world class teaching and learning.
As we begin this new year, we have several things to celebrate. We showed gains in some areas on our ACT Aspire assessment, we had over one hundred students who made the Honor Roll during each grading period last school year, we were able to provide our students with more exposure in the fine arts area, and our Girls Soccer Team was the middle schools runner up for the district. Those are just a few things to celebrate.
Many of our faculty members participated in job embedded professional development opportunities during the summer, and they are eager to implement their new learnings into their classroom.
Our focus this year, as always will be to work to increase student achievement. We will fully implement the district’s Learning Focus Instructional Framework Model, we will be engaged with Project Based Learning, which means your child will be participating in hands on experiences/projects, we will focus on schoolwide reading and writing strategies, and we will implement Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS).
We will work to continue to move the school forward by having ongoing conversations regarding our data and school improvement, and maintaining a culture that focuses on academic achievement. Keep in mind the motto, “Nothing Less Than the Best…Panther Pride,” is what I expect. Our theme for this school year is “The Time is Now to be Great.” With our theme in mind and in order to have a great school year, we must expect “Nothing Less than the Best.”
Our doors are always open and we welcome all parents. In the event that parents would like to meet with a teacher, we ask that you contact the office and schedule an appointment during their planning time.
We have plenty of work to do as we strive to improve academics, and I know that we have talented faculty, staff and students to get it done. Let’s have a great school year and remember to “Surround Ourselves With Positive and Influential People.”
