    Mission
    The mission of the Birmingham City Schools Guidance and Counseling Department is to help students reach their full potential to achieve personal, social, academic, and career success.  Counselors use various sources of data to assist them in providing a comprehensive guidance and counseling program, which propels students to engage in rewarding experiences encompassing equitable access to curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
     
    Goals
    To work collaboratively with students, parents,community leaders, teachers and administrators:

    *To implement a comprehensive counseling program that teaches students valuable academic, personal/social, and career skills.

    *To ensure the counseling program prepares all students to succeed in school and become productive citizens.
