• My name is B. Yvonne Gholston. I was born in Lawrence County, Alabama.  I lived in Morgan County, Alabama until I started my teaching career for Birmingham City Schools.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Alabama A&M University in Accounting.  Later, I returned to Alabama A&M University to receive my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.

My first teaching job was at Powell Elementary, where I taught third grade.  A year later, I started working at Inglenook K-8, where I have been for 19+ years.  My educator experience is 4th grade for 17 years, third grade for 1 year, and fifth grade for 1 year.  I also enjoyed being a cheerleading coach for approximately 5 years.

I wanted to become a teacher because I have a deepened love for children.

I am the mother of two children (Antuan and Diamond) and grandmother of 2 grandchildren (King and Kueen).
