My name is Mrs. M. Alexander and I have taught 1st , 2nd , 3rd and now Kindergarten at Norwood Elementary School. This is my 18th year teaching in the Birmingham City School System. I enjoy teaching 3rd grade because of its challenges of being a transitional grade. There are so many new topics in our curriculum and it is amazing to watch the student's excitement as they discover and learn. I received my B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Miles College. I was born and raised in Birmingham and a proud product of the Birmingham City School System attending: Scott Elementary School, Princeton Elementary School, Bush Magnet School and A.H. Parker High School. I am married and have two handsome sons.

I enjoy my profession as an educator and making a difference in the lives of the students I come in contact with. Words cannot express how blessed I am to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. I love both teaching and learning from all of my students, parents and colleagues each year. My goal is to develop "Life-Long Learners!"
