It's Fabulous in First Grade!
Hello, my name is Tara Glass-Purifoy. This will be my 20th year teaching first grade.
I've taught at Lewis Elementary, Hill Elementary and currently here at Norwood Elementary. I received my B.S degree in Elementary Education from Miles College. I also hold an AA and Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University.
I love to shop, spend time with my family & friends, and I love to sing.
I chose to teach because I was called to the profession. I love learning and consider myself a life-long student. My objective is to be an effective, masterful teacher while creating a fun, safe and risk-free learning environment for the children. I look forward to learning as much from my students, if not more, as I will teach them. My plan is to always continue my professional endeavors so that I can offer the best of teaching/learning experiences to each student, and provide the most effective social and individual learning opportunities.
I know that by working together, we can enable each child to perform at his or her very best level. It is very important that each parent/guardian be involved in their child’s education as much as possible.
Thank you for your trust in me and my abilities to educate your child. I look forward to working with each student and their parents.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to request a conference or e-mail me. My planning time is available in the office.
Thank you,
Mrs. Purifoy
