Ms. Reese received her Master’s Degree from Alabama State University in Elementary Education and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Broadcast Communications/ Journalism from Stillman College. She will enter her 17th year teaching in the Birmingham School System/Sun Valley Elementary during the 2016-2017 school years. Throughout the years, Ms. Reese has been Chairperson for The Black History Program, American Education Week, Red Ribbon Week, and Lead Teacher for Math for the school, Second Grade Teacher, Intervention Teacher, First Grade Teacher and a director for plays /skits for the school. She has also served as a resource for the Social Studies Curriculum.
Outside of work, Ms. Reese is a vocalist for the city of Birmingham. She is a member of the Carlton Reese Memorial Unity Choir/the original civil rights choir which was directed by her Late father Professor Carlton Reese. She is the product of two educators. Ms. Reese is a lover of the Arts. She acts and sings in many local plays and has been participated in an International Documentary entitled Sound Track for a Revolution/The Music of the Civil Rights movement with the original movement choir, directed and produced by actor/civil rights activist Danny Glover. In early years she sang at the Martin Luther King Celebrations and for city leaders. Ms. Reese uses music in the classroom to inspire her students. Ms. Reese is the daughter of Mrs. Patricia H. Reese and the Late Professor Carlton Reese; she has a brother, Carlton Reese Jr. and a loving fiancé.
