Hey guys, my name is Crystal Peden, but here at South Hampton I've always been known as "Ms. K". I am the Business Technology teacher and I teach Computer Essentials. I advise our Future Business Leaders of America - FBLA - Middle Level. I am also an Apple Teacher and a Teacher Fellow with EdFarm.
I am originally from Florence, Alabama. I graduated from the University of North Alabama (UNA, Go Lions!) with a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus on Journalism in 2005. After a few years of working for an architectural firm in Birmingham, I decided to be what I'd always wanted to be and moved back to Florence to earn my Master's degree in Business Education from UNA in 2016. I will graduate from UNA again in May 2020 with a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). I love learning!
I believe in multiple intelligences, which means I think there are many different ways to measure intelligence, not simply from "book learning". I am a proponent of project-based learning and believe in making sure everyone has skills to get them ready for college, career, or life in one way or another. I want you to learn skills in my class that you will use for the rest of your life. There's no, "When will we ever need to know this in 'real life', Ms. K?" allowed in my classroom.
