Hello and Welcome to Sixth Grade !!

My name is Kymberly Bennett-Edwards and I will be your child's Science teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.  This year we will be studying Earth Science.  We will study the earth's atmosphere, space science, the changing earth, earth's waters and the earth's surface.  My goal is to make Science an adventurous, fun and exciting learning experience for my students.

The students will participate in hands-on activities and conduct several  science experiments throughout the year. The students will also participate in lab activities weekly and build an interactive Science notebook.
I am so excited about the lessons, projects and presentations I have planned for my classes. My expectations for my students are that they come to class everyday eager, excited and prepared. Each student is required to have the following items in class: *textbook   *lab manual *note-taking manual *composition tablet *notebook or loose leaf paper   *pen (black & blue only) / pencils  &  *flash drive.
(See Sixth Grade 2017-2018 supply list for all other supplies)
The following rules are expected to be followed in my class:
*Be Prompt   *Be Prepared    *Be Positive    *Be Productive    *Be Polite
Occasionally there will be no homework, as your child will have an opportunity to finish his/her assignments in class.  Your child will be assigned projects and presentations throughout the year.  While I know that your child may need your assistance with some of the projects, I still expect the project to be the work of the student. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year.
I believe that good communication between parent, teacher and student is very important for your child's academic growth - a relationship I hope we will develop together.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.
