Standard: Analyze and interpret data from investigations to explain the role of products and reactants of photosynthesis and cellular respiration in the cycling of matter and the flow of energy.
- Plan and carry out investigations to explain the interactions among pigments, absorption of light, and reflection of light.

Day 1 : Students will be given the following scenario: You are sitting at Railroad Park with a group of friends enjoying a live concert. The sun is shining bright, causing you to put on your sunglasses. You brought with you some peaches from a peach tree to snack on while you were at the park. Is there a connection between you , the sun and the peach? If so, draw a diagram to support your claim.Label the following terms in your diagram: energy, autotrophs, heterotrophs, matter, and ecosystem
- if students are unclear of connection, they will complete a K.I.M graphic organizer on the following terms: autotrophs, heterotrophs, energy, matter, and Ecosystem
Day 2 Students will complete a Pogil on Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration

The students will draw or use a technological device to design a model of how plants and animals function together in an Ecosystem. In their model they will include the following: Sun ( light energy), plant,( leaf), animal (mitochondria), and both equations of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. I will attach an example.
