Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Samuel L. Jackson, I’m the twelfth grade Government and Economics Teacher. I have over fourteen years experience in the field of Education. Originally, I am from the Powderly community, attending Birmingham Public Schools from Kindergarten through the Eighth grade. My high school career was completed at John Carroll Catholic High School. Since graduating from high school, I’ve earned three degrees: Bachelors of Arts in History (Miles College), Masters of Education with a Social Science Concentration (University of West Alabama), and a Masters in Public Administration with a Business Management concentration (Jacksonville State University). Initially my goal was to finish law and become a politician or a Constitutional Law Professor. I ultimately discovered I had a passion for educating the youth and made career in education. I have participated in numerous social and civic organizations such as the NAACP. In my spare time I like to read, travel, hike, cycle, and spend time with my nephew and niece.
