Welcome to Mrs. Cunningham’s Language Arts Classroom!

Parents/Guardians and students, 

Welcome to seventh grade! I am so excited to be your English Language Arts teacher this school year.   My goal is to develop life long readers, writers, and thinkers who are ready for college and/or a career.  It is also my intent to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet stimulating experience in the classroom.  I have high expectations for all my students and truly believe that through respect, teamwork, and cooperation, all students can achieve success in the classroom. This year in English Language Arts, we will read various works of fiction and non-fiction.   As we do so, you, as a scholar, will become a stronger reader, sharpen your ability to think critically, expand your vocabulary, enhance your ability to speak and listen in the academic setting, and strengthen your writing skills.  I believe in the concept that “It takes a village to raise a child.”  Therefore, as we (students, parents/guardians, teacher) work in partnership and collaboration with one another, we can ensure that our scholars can reach their highest potential educationally and socially.
