Welcome! Life Science is the study of living things. We will learn about things like survival methods of living things, classifying plants and animals, identifying developmental stages of plants and animals, a variety of habitats and natural homes of animals, identify parts of the human body, the importance of a balanced diet, muscles and bones, technology used by scientists, and evidence of animals that no longer exist. We will investigate these things by a method of learning that requires students to identify real world phenomenon or problems and investigate ways to inquire about them further. Learning in this way allows students to actually discover patterns and evidence the way that scientists do. We will participate in both long and short term labs, documentation of our findings, recording background information (note-taking/journaling), and sometimes even outdoor exploration. Science is all about asking questions and finding the answers through repeated analysis and testing!
