Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am Mr. Peavy and am so proud to be a Ramsay Ram!

 My road to Ramsay came through earning a BA in Art History, with a minor in History, from The University of Alabama, 2005; an MAT, emphasis in History from UWA in 2010, and finally, my MAEd in Secondary Social Sciences from UAB in 2016. It is my mission to empower our students to be "...well rounded, global-minded, responsible citizens and life-long learners", affording them every opportunity to maximize their individual potential.  This year I am teaching 10th grade pre-AP U.S. history, early, beginning with the discovery of the Americas and finishing with westward expansion and AP U.S. History. This particular time period is crucial to students' understanding of how America went from a relatively seclusionary country on the world stage, to becoming expansionists, imperialists, and on to becoming THE global leader, politically, economically, and militarily, for much of the 20th century and into the 21st century.

  In conjunction with the classroom work, I am an assistant coach for our Ramsay Basketball team. I also work with Mr. Micah Kemp to develop future leaders with our Youth In Government and am the faculty sponsor for Alabama Model United Nations club. I look forward to another fantastic year with all of our incredible students, faculty, and staff!
