COL Gregory L. Parker

I am Colonel (ret) Gregory L. Parker, Ramsay High School Army JROTC Program, Senior Army Instructor. I am entering my 6th year of teaching JROTC. This is my 5th year at Ramsay High School. I taught one year at Talladega High School (2017-18). I enjoy teaching and motivating students. I joined the military, Army National Guard in 1983, my junior year of high school. I went to basic training at Ft. McClellan. I served 34 years in the military (15 years of active duty). I retired from the U.S. Army in 2017. I was a Police Officer for the City of Fairfield(1990-2004), where I served as Drug Abuse Resistance Education Instructor, D.A.R.E. officer and various duties. I educated students of the harmful effects of drugs on the human body. I worked with elementary, middle and high school students for several years.  I am married and the father of four.  I am originally from Selma, AL, and a graduate of Selma High School, class of 1984, graduate of UAB(Criminal Justice, B.S.) 1988 and Miles Law School (J.D.) 2002. I am the lead instructor for the JROTC drill team, academic team, physical training team  and the JROTC Battalion staff.
