Greetings Ram Family:             

As the 11th and 12th grade Guidance Counselor at Ramsay High School, it is my pleasure to officially welcome everyone back for the 2022-23 school year.  I am excited to have an opportunity to work with students as we prepare to move past the Covid-19 pandemic.  It is the mission of the Guidance/Counseling Department to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college ready upon graduation. I hope you find this webpage helpful as well as informative.  My prayer is that we have a productive and successful school year regardless of the pandemic and all other unforeseen situations that may occur. 

I am entering my eighth year at Ramsay and 26th year in education.  I'm a product of Birmingham City Schools.  I'm honored to be employed by the school district that educated me.  I've earned degrees from the following Universities:  B.S. in Secondary Education (Tuskegee University), Master's Degree in School Counseling (Alabama State University), Education Specialist Degree in School Leadership (Alabama State University) and my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership (The University of Alabama at Birmingham).  My hobbies include studying the bible, spending time with family, reading, walking, golfing, traveling, watching sports, and the stock market.  I'm married to my beautiful wife Kimberly. We are the parents of two daughters and proud empty nesters.

I am hopeful that you have had time to rest, rejuvenate, relax, recuperate and prepare to dive into the educational journey we are all embarking on.
