Degrees and Certifications:

Angela Armstrong, RN

Hello to everyone!  I am Nurse Armstrong.  Most the kids know me as Nurse A since Armstrong can be a little difficult for some of the children to say.  I received my Associates Degree of Nursing in June of 2000 from Southern Union State Community College in Opelika, AL.  Before that I served as a volunteer for four years at East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Services.  My background in nursing is oncology and have been working in the school system as a School Nurse for the last 6 years.  It is a pleasure and honor to be able to serve my community in this very specialized and unique way.

I have been married for over 20 years and we have 3 children.  We also have worked with the foster care system and have fostered a few children over the last 5 years.  One of the children we fostered, we chose to adopt.  I am also well versed with various mental conditions as my youngest and I are on the Autism Spectrum (specifically, Asperger’s Syndrome).  It is my passion to be able to provide the most inclusive care possible.  Each child is different and reacts to situations differently, therefore the care I provide must reflect that fact.

Please take the time to look over some of the important information that is on my page.  You will find forms for school medication, information about wellness, up to date news on flu prevention and much more.  Serving my community is an honor for me.  I am a resource for teachers, staff, students and their parents.  It is my duty and privilege to help ensure that everyone who is on the school campus is as safe and healthy as possible.  My door is always open to all who need assistance.
