My Name is Monica Brimage. I am a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, A Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
I have taught in Birmingham City Schools for more than 20 years.
I started my career as a third grade classroom teacher. Nominated Teacher of the Year, 2008. Became an ARI/ARFI Literacy Coach, a Resource Teacher, and currently, i serve as a Curriculum Specialist here at Green Acres Middle School.
I previously served as the Academic Bowl Coach at Jones Valley Middle School. During that time, our team was led to a 2nd Place Victory in the district. As the Academic Coach at Green Acres, our team was led to a 3rd Place Victory in the district. I now have the honor to serve as the Ambassador Coordinator at Green Acres Middle School.
I am a Member of the Birmingham Chapter of Charms Inc. A Social/Civic/Cutural Organization, that has 23 chapters nationally. As a member of the Birmingham Chapter, I served as corresponding secretary and project leader for the chapter. As Project Leader, our chapter was led to win Charms National Unity Walk for two consecutive years 2018-2019.
I look forward to working with and meeting the academic needs of students, teachers, and parents and continuing the winning tradition here at Green Acres Middle School.
