The Mission of Ramsay High School is to prepare students to succeed at the post-secondary level by providing an enriched educational program.  The ultimate goal is to empower our students with the knowledge and skills to be well-rounded, global minded, responsible citizens and life-long learners.
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end, the IB works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of  international education and rigorous assessment.  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Please come out and join us for OPEN HOUSE on Monday, August 20th from 6-8.

  • Ramsay High School Welcomes the YMCA Youth In Government Club

Ramsay High School began charting a new course in history by inducting its very first group of officers and members into the first Youth In Government Club (YIG) sponsored by the YMCA. The club elected Jada Lett (President), Asllynne Kemp  (VP), Jillian Jolly (Secretary), Micaiah Collins (Parliamentarian), Autumn Jones (Chaplin), Myla Johnson and Royal Hughes (Co-Activities Coordinators). With the establishment of the YIG club, Ramsay High School joins an elite group of schools in the metro area with YIG clubs, such as Mountain Brook and Spain Park High School. The purpose of YIG is to provide tangible experiences for students on how the executive, legislative, and judicial processes work in the state of Alabama.

The induction ceremony was conducted at the YMCA Youth Center. Our featured speaker was Mrs. Terri Harvill, the District Vice President for the YMCA of Greater Birmingham.  Mrs. Harvill gave a very heartwarming and informative message regarding the benefits and opportunities she experienced as former participate of the Youth In Government (YIG) program. Mr. Travis Stoves (YMCA) who serves as coordinator for all YIG programs at Ramsay, organized, and planned the induction ceremony activities sponsored by the YMCA Youth Center. The YIG club expects to see Ramsay make its mark through building a strong, competitive, and effective YIG club.
