September 10, 2018 - The Thundering Herd is off to a 1-1 football season. So far, the Herd has taken on opponents Huffman High School and Ramsay High School. The Herd defeated the Huffman Vikings August 31, 2018 in an away season opener. Although the Herd prevailed victoriously against the Vikings, the football team and coaches came up short on last Friday's game at Lawson Field in Birmingham, AL against the Ramsay Rams. Friday's game was a conference game. The final score was 35-6.
You can catch the Herd back in action this Thursday September 13, 2018 at Major Brown Memorial Stadium (Parker High School's Field). The Herd looks foward to redemption this week on the field against the Catholic High School.
September 17, 2018 - The Thundering Herd shut out the John Carroll Cavaliers on Friday night with a final score of 54-0. The Thundering Herd ran 41 times for 413 yards -- averaging 10 yards per carry -- and three different players ran for more than 100 yards in a 54-0 rout of John Carroll.
Senior, Antonius Bufford, took over at quarterback in the second quarter with the game still in a scoreless tie and sparked the Thundering Herd (2-1 overall, 1-1 in region play) to a 27-0 halftime lead.
Bufford finished with 101 yards on eight carriers, with TD runs of 14, 31, 26 and 4 yards. Junior, William Elhorn, led Parker with 181 yards and TD runs of 41 and 22 yards on 14 carries, scoring, while JeKovan Rhetta had 109 yards and a 47-yard touchdown run on 10 carries. GO THUNDERING HERD!
