Huffman Academy’s Attendance Awareness video was created by Mr. Lovell and Mrs. Evans with input from the following students: Melleke, Eboni, Messiah, Tenaysia, Lauren, Armani, and Hannah. In the video, students performed a skit detailing the importance of attendance as a “breaking news” segment broadcast, with a special report interview with Huffman Academy’s new principal, Mrs. Telisha Gilbert. Students generated ideas for why attendance matters and improvised lines that would eventually be written into the script. Over the course of three days, students learned their lines and performed the skit. The video was recorded on an iPad provided by Title I funds, and the video was edited using iMovie.
