These new guidelines are part of our ongoing commitment to safety and security in our schools and facilities as well as our events.”
In addition to the guidelines on age and adult ID, the district is also requiring spectators toremain seated in the stands during the games, and loitering or gathering of groups in the aisles, concourses, ramps, entrances, or exits will be prohibited.
“We have exciting sporting events throughout our district – especially in our high school and middle school sports,” Dr. Sullivan said. “We want families and friends to fill the stands to cheer for the athletes, the bands, and cheerleaders. But we want everyone to be assured of a safe end pleasant environment.
The district will continue receiving support from the Birmingham Police Department andBCS Security at all games. The superintendent said BCS leaders will monitor trends and activities to the games -- adjusting guidelines as needed.
