luncheon

Members of the National Society of Black Engineers Junior Chapters (NSBE Jr.) from G.W. Carver, A.H. Parker, and Ramsay High Schools were recognized for their outstanding achievements today during the organization’s annual luncheon.

This year’s graduating seniors have collectively earned over $1 million in scholarship awards, a remarkable milestone that reflects their hard work and determination.

The keynote speaker was Bernice Adeeso, an engineer with the Southern Power Company.

“These exceptional students have demonstrated unwavering commitment to their educational goals, setting a powerful example of excellence, perseverance, and leadership,” said Dr. Jerelle Hendon, Birmingham City Schools Attendance Officer

This impactful initiative is made possible through a strong partnership between Birmingham City Schools and the Birmingham Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, working together to empower the next generation of STEM leaders.

NSBE Jr. sponsors include Christopher Lang from Carver, Mychal Thomas from Parker, Jennifer Gilbert from Ramsay, Dr. Christine Hall, Career Coach for Career and Technical Education at Birmingham City Schools and Dr. Hendon.
