Our community is facing a potential food crisis due to the federal government shutdown. As you may have heard, more than 20 thousand families in Birmingham will see a pause with their SNAP benefits starting November 1. The disruption in SNAP benefits will impact our BCS family. We’re here to help.
If your family is affected, please know our schools will continue to provide your child breakfast and lunch every school day. We are working with our partners, including the city of Birmingham and the United Way of Central Alabama, to identify organizations that will provide food to families in need.

Staff will be available to assist with registration 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. at Bush Hills STEAM Academy through July 31! You will have to call the front office (205-231-6370) to make an appointment after July 31. Students will pick-up schedules and receive supplies (while they last). Be sure to upload all documents in Powerschool!
