Tuggle Elementary School has partnered with The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine’s Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center regarding the structural design and equipment needs for an evidenced-based calming room. The Superintendent’s Academy is a 4-week, achievement-based, summer enrichment opportunity designed to engage scholars in grades 5-12. The program includes performance-based activities to promote confidence and creativity, critical literacy skills, financial literacy, STEAM (Science Technology Engineering, Art, and Math), problem-based learning, and community service.
