Congratulations to our Carver Math Team for placing in the BCS District Math Tournament. MiKaila Woods, 9th grade, received the 2nd Place Individual Award for Geometry with Data Analysis. Kinjah-El Muhammad, 10th grade, earned the 1st Place Individual Award for Algebra I with Probability. Our 10th grade math team earned 1st Place in the district for Algebra l with Probability. We are so proud of our valedictorian, Camille Maiden, who will continue her studies at Grinnell College majoring in computer science, and our salutatorian, Abi Wilson, who will pursue nursing at Louisiana State University. 🎓

Michelle has exemplified the qualities of a true cultural ambassador through her many leadership roles at Carver. From serving on our Hispanic Heritage Month Committee to demonstrating leadership in HOSA, leading within the Academies of Health Sciences and Visual Communications, serving as a Carver Ambassador, completing a Birmingham Promise internship, and graduating with a Mental Health Worker credential, Michelle has continuously demonstrated excellence, leadership, and service.
As a bilingual future healthcare professional, Michelle is uniquely prepared to connect with and serve multicultural and multilingual communities through compassionate and culturally responsive care. Yesterday, the Carver Rams BCS Influencers proudly presented to their peers on opioid awareness, with a strong focus on ending teen vaping and drug abuse. Through education, peer engagement, and meaningful conversations, the student influencers encouraged healthy decision-making and promoted a drug-free lifestyle among their classmates.
As part of the awareness initiative, the influencers also distributed sunglasses and shaved ice to students, helping create a positive and engaging atmosphere while spreading an important message about prevention, wellness, and making safe choices.
A special thank you to Auburn University and the Jefferson County 4-H for serving as sponsors and supporting this impactful initiative for our students and school community.
