Our community is facing a potential food crisis due to the federal government shutdown. As you may have heard, more than 20 thousand families in Birmingham will see a pause with their SNAP benefits starting November 1. The disruption in SNAP benefits will impact our BCS family. We’re here to help.
If your family is affected, please know our schools will continue to provide your child breakfast and lunch every school day. We are working with our partners, including the city of Birmingham and the United Way of Central Alabama, to identify organizations that will provide food to families in need.
Visit our Bham Ready page for more information.

We're bringing parent-teacher communication to the Birmingham City Schools, AL app! Look for invites to connect with your scholars' teachers over the next week. In the meantime, download the BCS app for iPhone or Android! #SuccessStartsHere
