After winning $22,000 from STEM competitions sponsored by Samsung and Altec, scholars from South Hampton K-8 School have turned their proposed project into a real thing.
The team cut the ribbon on Hygiene Hub, a web-connected vending machine that provides feminine hygiene products and disposable diapers to women in need.
The public unveiling took place at Renew Birmingham's Ensley office, which will also be the permanent home for the kiosk.
