The Wenonah High School Lady Dragons outlasted Montgomery Catholic 18-12 in overtime at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Dec. 6 to claim the 2023 AHSAA 1A-5A Flag Football Championship, the first for Birmingham City Schools.

UPDATE March 4, 2024: The City of Birmingham, Birmingham Board of Education, Jefferson County Commission, and other leaders from throughout the Birmingham area, along with parents, students, fans, and well-wishers, honored the Wenonah Lady Dragons with a victory parade today.
