2nd Nine Weeks Awards Day
Green Acres Middle School will host its 2nd Nine Weeks Awards Day on Thursday, January 30th, to recognize students for their academic achievement, effort, and conduct during the second grading period.
Awards Day Schedule:
• 6th Grade: 9:00 a.m.
• 7th & 8th Grades: 10:30 a.m.
Parents and guardians of eligible students are invited to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of our scholars.

Green Acres Middle School’s Exceptional Students had an absolutely amazing time bowling at Spare Time today! From the moment they laced up their shoes to the final roll of the ball, our students were all smiles, showing teamwork, encouragement, and pure joy. Experiences like this not only create lasting memories, but also give our students opportunities to build social skills, confidence, and meaningful connections outside the classroom.

🌟 Congratulations to the GAMS Confident Coders! 🌟 We are excited to announce that our GAMS Confident Coders have officially advanced to the next level of coding class! Their hard work, creativity, and dedication to problem-solving continue to shine, and we could not be more proud of their achievements. During EdFarm class, our students participate in a hands-on, engaging coding class where they learn essential skills in computer programming. 🌾 Thank You for a Wonderful Thanksgiving Luncheon! 🌾 Green Acres Middle School and extends a heartfelt thank you to all parents, teachers, faculty, staff, stakeholders, and community partners for making our Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon a memorable and uplifting event. Your presence, support, and warm spirits helped create an atmosphere filled with gratitude, unity, and joy. Together, we shared a nutritious and delicious meal, celebrated the season of thankfulness, and strengthened the bond that makes GAMS such a special place. We are especially grateful to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and efforts from preparing the cafeteria to serving food, greeting families, and ensuring every student and parent felt welcomed. Your dedication continues to make a meaningful difference. 🌟 S.T.E.M. Night Was a Blast at Green Acres Middle School! 🌟
Last night’s S.T.E.M. Night at Green Acres Middle School was an incredible success! Students, families, and staff came together for an evening full of hands-on learning and exploration. The event featured robotics demonstrations, coding games, exciting science experiments, creative engineering challenges, and engaging ST Math puzzles.
Students had the opportunity to explore, experiment, and discover the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in action. A big thank-you to all our teachers, volunteers, and community partners who helped make the evening both educational and fun! 💡🤖🔬📐

🎃 Green Acres Middle School Students Shine at the Boo Bash! 👻
On October 29, 2025, Green Acres Middle School’s exceptional students attended the Boo Bash at Woodlawn High School, an exciting event presented by the Birmingham City Schools Special Education Department. The celebration brought together students from across the district for a day of creativity, fun, and friendship.
From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Tables were covered in bright orange and black decorations, and upbeat Halloween Dance music filled the gym. Students eagerly participated in a variety of hands-on art activities, designing colorful pumpkins, spooky masks, and festive Halloween crafts that showcased their creativity and individual style.
The day wasn’t all about crafts, though the dance floor quickly became the highlight of the event! Laughter and cheers echoed as students and teachers danced to their favorite tunes, enjoying the freedom to move, express themselves, and just have fun. Between songs, everyone refueled with snacks and treats, adding a delicious touch to an already joyful day.
Events like the Boo Bash not only provide a chance for students to celebrate the season but also foster inclusion, self-expression, and community connection. The smiles on the students’ faces told the whole story they truly had an awesome time!
