This summer, rising fourth through sixth-grade Superintendent's Academy scholars collected more than 100 hats for their "Caps for a Cure for Childhood Cancer" initiative in partnership with Children's of Alabama. Tristan Miles, a rising fifth grader at Phillips Academy and a Superintendent's Academy participant, recently had the honor of presenting the donation to Children's of Alabama on behalf of the program. #SuccessStartsHere

Summer is ALMOST here -- make sure to keep some good books near for your scholars! Our Curriculum and Instruction Department has curated its annual Summer Reading List for every reading level. K-5 lists include links to chapter books on myON as well.
In commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Freedom Rides, John Herbert Phillips Academy, in collaboration with the Birmingham City Schools Fine Arts Department, hosted the We Shall Someday Project—a powerful blend of history, performance, and student engagement.
The concert performance of the original musical, We Shall Someday, featured Broadway actors. Following the show, the artists held a discussion on-stage with living Freedom Riders and the artists.
