Father’s Day
Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day of freedom, reflection, and remembrance that marks the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.

As a school proudly bearing the name of George Washington Carver, we are inspired by his legacy of perseverance, innovation, and his belief that education can open doors and create opportunities. May we continue to learn from the past while inspiring our students to use their talents and voices to advance opportunity, justice, and positive change.

We are incredibly proud to be home to the State of Alabama’s Seal of Biliteracy Student of the Year, Michelle Reyes-Poot! ❤️💙

Michelle has exemplified the qualities of a true cultural ambassador through her many leadership roles at Carver. From serving on our Hispanic Heritage Month Committee to demonstrating leadership in HOSA, leading within the Academies of Health Sciences and Visual Communications, serving as a Carver Ambassador, completing a Birmingham Promise internship, and graduating with a Mental Health Worker credential, Michelle has continuously demonstrated excellence, leadership, and service.

As a bilingual future healthcare professional, Michelle is uniquely prepared to connect with and serve multicultural and multilingual communities through compassionate and culturally responsive care. We are excited to see her continue her journey in healthcare as she begins her studies at Berea College this fall. #ExcellenceIsTheStandard #SuccessStartsHere

Yesterday, the Carver Rams BCS Influencers proudly presented to their peers on opioid awareness, with a strong focus on ending teen vaping and drug abuse. Through education, peer engagement, and meaningful conversations, the student influencers encouraged healthy decision-making and promoted a drug-free lifestyle among their classmates.

As part of the awareness initiative, the influencers also distributed sunglasses and shaved ice to students, helping create a positive and engaging atmosphere while spreading an important message about prevention, wellness, and making safe choices.

A special thank you to Auburn University and the Jefferson County 4-H for serving as sponsors and supporting this impactful initiative for our students and school community.
